Bon Appetex
The Austin Land & Cattle Company restaurant tells its customers: “Bon Appetex!” This Texas version of “bon appétit” hasn’t spread to other Texas restaurants, however.

Husband-and-wife proprietors Christian and Theresa Mertens offer great steaks plus an inviting selection of entrées featuring chicken, fish, lobster, and shrimp to please the palate in this comfortable downtown dinner house. We just have to love a restaurant with the slogan “Bon Appetex”!

The place Ruby’s at 512 West 29th and The Drag, is 1000% better, and a small independent operation.
Rudy’s original location in Leon Springs, west of San Antonio is good, but they are now a chain or at least a chainlette like the County Line, serving up mediocre BBQ to non-Texans who think it’s so yummy. :tsk:
For the best BBQ, you need to be parking on dirt or gone-to-hell asphalt.
Bon appetex.
