“Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused”

“Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused” is a saying that has been printed on many images. “Blessed is he who can laugh at himself, for he will never cease to be amused.—The Old Sourdough” was printed in the Chicago (IL) Daily Tribune on March 9, 1955. “Blessed is the man who can laugh at himself for he will never cease to be amused.—Ann Reyher” was printed in the Chicago (IL) Daily Tribune on April 17, 1962.

“REMEMBERED QUOTE: ‘Blessed is the man who can laugh at himself, for he will never cease to be amused.’—M. W. Larmour” was printed in Earl Wilson’s syndicated entertainment column on March 20, 1964. It appears that the 1955 citation is the source. There have been many slight variations in the wording.
