“Be you. The world will adjust”

“Be you. The world will adjust” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying was posted on Twitter on August 31, 2013.

The saying means that one should be one’s self, not a copy of another person. Some have argued that the saying is false—if the world doesn’t like you and you insist on not changing, the world does not “adjust” to your way.

“Be you, the world will adjust.” How true is this statement and what does it mean?
If you would be kind enough to break it down for me i would really appreciate it.
Best Answer:  This statement is false.
“Be you” is an edict to not change one’s image of oneself, or to change one’s behavior. “The world will adjust” to change to suit you.

That is not we way the world works.

Be you. The world will adjust. If you feel that you have to be someone other than yourself for others to love you, then look around at those people and ask yourself if it’s you who needs to change or perhaps you might want to change who surrounds you. A true friend and romantic partner loves you for who you really are. Not who they want you to be. They embrace your quirks and you theirs.

5. Be you, the world will adjust.
I really appreciated “Finding Dory” (and “Finding Nemo”) because of the exposure of mental health & disabilities it gives to the audience. Nemo has a genetic defect that affects one of his fins, which makes it more difficult to swim; Dory has a brain disorder that affects her memory (the scientific name for her disorder is called anterograde amnesia), and shows signs of panic disorder as well; Destiny, the whale, has impaired vision; Hank, the octopus, has anxiety etc… the list goes on. Although this film shows a variety of characters who are “different,” it focuses more on accepting them for who they are rather than seeing the differences as flaws. So, really this point leads to two lessons: accept who you are, and accept who others are.
