“Linoleum” (a floor covering) is not the name of a person, but “Lynn O. Leum” was printed in the Muskegon (MI) Chronicle on March 8, 1916, and “East Lynne-o-leum” was printed in the Fulham (London, UK) Chronicle on May 16, 1919.
 
“Linoleum” has been comically given as an Irish name. “Irish Flooring: Lynn O’Leum” was listed under “Punny book titles” in the newsgroup rec.humor on March 2, 1993. “Bathroom & kitchen floor coverings were invented by an Irish woman called Lynn O’leum” was posted on X/Twitter by Pow Pow on September 8, 2018 “WHAT DO YOU CALL AN IRISH GIRL WHO SITS ON THE FLOOR? Linoleum is a floor covering made from materials such as solidified linseed oil (linoxyn), pine resin, ground cork dust, sawdust, and mineral fillers such as calcium carbonate, most commonly on a hessian or canvas backing. Pigments are often added to the materials to create the desired color finish. Due to the pigment being mixed directly into the linoleum cement, the finished color of the tile remains visible even after years of wear.
