“Annoy a liberal—work hard & be happy”
“Annoy a liberal—work hard & be happy” has been a bumper sticker slogan since at least 1994. The conservative message means that liberals don’t like to work and prefer being poor and unhappy while mooching from other people’s tax dollars. The second part of the saying sometimes has variations, such as “work hard and smile” and “work hard and get rich.”
A similar political saying—“Annoy a conservative—think for yourself”—has been cited in print since 2004.
