“America’s not perfect but in times of crisis, our political leaders set aside their differences and ask: ‘What’s the least amount of aid we can provide…?’”

It’s often said that the two major American political parties (Democrats and Republicans) fight each other, but in times of crisis, they set aside their differences for the sake of the country.  A joke on this was posted on X/Twitter by American journalist Ken Klippenstein on July 25, 2020, and this received over 42,000 likes:
 
“America’s not perfect but in times of crisis, our political leaders set aside their differences and ask: ‘What’s the least amount of aid we can provide people without them literally rioting?’”
