“All things come to those who wait, but when they come they’re out of date”

“All/Good things come to those who wait” is a proverb that dates to the 1500s. “All things come to those who wait, but when they come they’re out of date” is a version of the saying that has been printed on images. This verse was published in the Philadelphia (PA) Press in December 1901:
 
“All things may come
To those who wait,
But when they do
They’re out of date/”
 
“All things come to those who wait, but when they come they’re out of date” was published in 1906 and in several newspapers in 1968.
