“A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your success”

“A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your success” is a friendship saying that has been printed on many images. “A true friend is one who willingly overlooks your failures and tolerates your successes” was written by American columnist Doug Larson (1926-2017) in the Green Bay (WI) Press-Gazette on December 25, 1993. “A friend is a person who overlooks your failures and tolerates your triumphs” was written by Larson in the Green Bay (WI) Press-Gazette on July 3, 1999.

The word “willingly” is usually dropped, and “successes” is often written as “success.” “A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your successes. — DOUG LARSON” was printed in the book Reader’s Digest Quotable Quotes (1997). “A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your success. Doug Larson” was posted on Twitter by Chris Zeller on May 18, 2008.
