“A moment on the lips, forever on the hips”
“A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips” is an old dieters’ saying. There are several lips/hips variations, such as “a second on the lips,” “a minute on the lips,” “ten minutes on the lips,” “a month on the hips,” “ten years on the hips,” “a lifetime on the hips,” and so on.
The saying appears to date in print to the 1930s and is of unknown origin.
