“‘A fraction of the cost’ is misleading as hypothetically, something could be 3/2 of the cost”

Businesses sometimes say that a product is being sold at “a fraction of the cost.” That usually means that the product is on sale, but what is the fraction?

“‘At a fraction of the cost!’ Which fraction?  Could be something like 3/2 and who wants to pay more than usual?” was posted on Twitter on January 5, 2010. “When commercials say ‘a fraction of the cost,’ do they not realize that 3/2 is a fraction?” was posted on Twitter on August 8, 2011.

nerd break 😊... heard an ad selling something for “a fraction of the cost”... they want you to think 1/2, but could be 99/100 or even 3/2

yeah you’re dumb why do they say “get stuff here for a fraction of the cost” 3/2 is a fraction and so is 5000/1. http://tmblr.co/ZqIfTsjK0BDx
