What you need is a bookend! Random House, Inc. posted this funny picture and axiom on its Facebook page. If you look closely, you can see what appears to be To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf and an unidentified book plunging to their deaths because they refuse to exist in a world in which Jersey Shore is being watched. The photo is obviously a joke, but I refuse to believe you can’t read smart books while enjoying trash reality TV.

27 January 2015, Washington (DC) Post, “Everyone’stealing jokes online. Why doesn’t anyone care? (Posted 2015-01-27 17:36:17)” by Luke O’Neil (weblog post):
Last Saturday, the popular Twitter “parody” account @ozchrisrock posted the following to his 77,000 followers: “A book commits suicide every time you watch a reality show.” A clever enough quip, sure. So clever, in fact, it’s been posted hundreds, if not thousands of times since it first started circulating back around 2011. It’s been repeated so frequently, and on so many social media platforms, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where it even originated .
