“A baby seal walks into a bar…” (bar joke)

“A guy walks into a bar…” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A popular seal joke is:

“A baby seal walks into a bar. The bartender says, ‘What’ll you have?’ The baby seal says, ‘Anything but a Canadian Club.’”

The joke has been cited in print since at least 1995. “Club sandwiches, not seals” is a saying based on the same message.
