“Two bacteria walk into a bar…” (bar joke)

“A guy walks into a bar...” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A popular science joke is:

“Two bacteria walk into a bar. The bartender says, ‘We don’t serve bacteria in this bar.’ The bacteria say, ‘But we work here. We’re staph!’”

The joke has been cited in print since at least March 2009. Brian Malow, self-proclaimed as “Earth’s Premier Science Comedian,” popularized the joke in videos from December 2008 and November 2009.
