NYE (New Year’s Eve)

"NYE” stands for “New Year’s Eve.” “NYE” has been cited in print since at least 1974, but became popular in the 1990s.

New York City holds a famous New Year’s Eve celebration, and “NYE” often appears together with “NYC.”

6 January 1974, The Sunday Oregonian (Portland, OR), “Varied guests, locales spice holiday parties,” Sunday sec., pg. 2, col. 2:
MORE RIOTOUS was the NYE party hosted by Gwen and Dick Bixler at their Rhododendron vacation home, “Snowfall.”

All true. The good news is that the “T” tends to run late and forget (officially) fares on NYE. I’ve caught the “T” as late as 1:30 AM on NYE, (possibly later).

The guys announced at the Buffalo concert that this year they would not be playing NYE in Buffalo, but in New York City.  Afterwards, I asked Mike if he was serious about playing NYC on New Year’s and he said yes, that they were to play at the Bottom Line.
