“Keep Waco Wacko”

“Keep Waco Wacko” is an unofficial slogan (trademarked in 2004) of the city of Waco. “Waco We Do” is an official slogan.

The first of these slogans was “Keep Austin Weird.” The seemingly endless imitation Texas city slogans include “Keep San Antonio Lame,” “Keep Dallas Pretentious,” “Keep Dallas Plastic,” “Keep Dallas Douche,” “Keep Houston Dirty,” “Keep Denton Chido,” “Keep Abilene Boring,” “Keep College Station Normal,” “Keep Georgetown Normal,” “Keep Round Rock Mildly Unusual,” “Keep Wimberley Weirder” and “Keep Lubbock Flat.”

Prentiss Riddle: Austin
Glenn, I didn’t realize the Keep _____ Weird meme had spread that far. I do believe it started in Austin. My favorite copycat campaign is the “Keep Waco Wacko” shirts they sell in the Common Grounds coffeeshop next door to Baylor.

Stan, you mean you didn’t organize a field trip?
