“The fire door is alarmed” is a typical building sign, but it’s sometimes joked that the door is “alarmed” because it has a human personality. “So I passed a door with the sign: ‘Door is Alarmed.’ I told it to relax, everything is going to be okay” was posted on Twitter on September 5, 2010. “Just read a sign that said ‘this door is alarmed’ so I took a few minutes to help calm it down” was posted on Twitter on June 2, 2011.
 
A series of messages posted on a door was printed on Twitter on July 18, 2013:
 
“This door is alarmed.”
“The window is startled.”
“And the floor is slightly taken aback.”
