Obscene Profit Timeout (commercial)
An “obscene profit timeout” is jocular term for a commercial. Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has called his show breaks “obscene profit timeouts” since at least 2008.

RUSH: That will happen here, too, and you’ll end up with this rich vs. middle class strata that you have now. It would be a total mess. And I gotta go. We’re out of time, and the EIB obscene profit center time-out right now.

That study will surely create some angst among the higher intellects.
But, don’t you know that there was some serious heartburn among the “elite” when the news of Rush’s new contract was made public?
When Rush announced a commercial break by announcing an “obscene profit” timeout, we really didn’t know the half of it.

On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: “I certainly hope he doesn’t succeed.”
The words above appeared as the lead paragraph of a must-read article by Fox Nws’ Bill Sammon which conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh mentioned on his show just before pausing for an “obscene profit timeout (a.k.a., “commercial message”) at Noon Central.

Has anyone noticed that when Rush’s ratings go through the roof, liberal media wants the fairness doctrine back? They must be mad because free markets rule conservative radio and those stations are making money, also known as an obscene profit timeout. Maybe instead of preaching fairness doctrine, liberal media should grab a pen and paper and start taking notes. I find it funny that no one is watching the left wing loons and they are crying poverty. It’s not fair, boohoo. Try getting back to journalism 101. Yes that is why Sean Hannity is shaping media direction in this country. He is following journalism basics. Figure it out.

I have to admit I’m amused by this. Probably very few other people are, but I am. During our obscene profit timeout, I’m watching the news conference between President Obama and Chinese ChiCom leader Hu Jintao, and I’ve not seen this before.
