"Mixed fries” are usually a combination of french fries and sweet potato fries, although other combinations are sometimes offered. Mixed fries became popular in American restaurants in the 2000s.

old school gr/eats
We started with the gr/eats Mixed Fries [4.00] made up of lightly fried shoestring potatoes, bananas, and yams with a parsley garnish. Very popular, these fries aren’t your ordinary Mickey D’s fries. You’ve got a crunch with the potatoes and bananas while the yams are softer and sweet. Great with peppered ketchup, this appetizer leaves you wanting more.

Fuel & Fuddle in Oakland has mixed fries, but I don’t recall if you can get *just* sweet potato fries.
The fry count was three baskets of mixed (regular and sweet potato) Fries ($6.00 each).
About 10 minutes passed and our mixed fries arrived. According to the menu, they are served “a la cart” and so they were presented in small shopping carts with the Delux logo and name on the front of them. Each cart had about 8-10 ounces of fries. They were also served with ketchup (which I believe is homemade) and an aioli sauce. The fries were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the sweet potato fries, but the others said both were great. And they were.

The restaurant is currently unnamed, but their makeshift menu says, “18 Ave. B.” The menu is pretty meat and potatoes… literally. There are 4 different kinds of burgers, and the sandwiches are chicken, chicken salad, turkey club, tuna salad, and BLT. The sides: Idaho fries, sweet potato fries, and mixed fries.

Summer Vacation - Berkshires!
We all split a basket of mixed fries – sweet potato, white potato, and eggplant.

Burger Brunch @ Zaitzeff - NYC
Along with the burgers, we had a side order of Mixed Fries ($5), a combination of hand-cut Idaho fries and sweet potato fries. The regular fries were nothing spectacular. Personally, I just prefer thin crunchy fries. The sweet potatoes, however, were chewy and delicious in their natural sweetness. I really love sweet potato fries. I think we don’t eat enough of them here in the states. In Korea, it’s not uncommon to find sweet potato fries at a food stall or a news stand, and in the winter, there are a ton of vendors selling sweet potatoes roasted in stovepipe-looking ovens right on the street. The skin is always scorched and the potato underneath is so delectably carmelized you always burn your fingers and the roof of your mouth as you eat them in the freezing cold.
