"Libtard” (liberal + retard) is an epithet used by some on the political right against the political left. “Libtard” has been cited in print since July 2004 in the conservative website Free Republic.
“Libertard” (liberal + retard) has been used similar to “libtard” since February 2004, but “libertard” (libertarian + retard) is most often used as an epithet against libertarians.
Similar terms include “sheeptard” (since March 1999), “Republitard” (since April 2002), “rightard” (since January 2003), “patriotard” (since April 2003), “Demotard” (since July 2003), “GOP tard"/"GOPtard” (since July 2004), “leftard” (since August 2004), “wingtard” (since October 2004), “neotard” (since May 2002), “conservatard” (since November 2005), “truthtard” (since October 2006), “ecotard” (since July 2007), “climatard” (since December 2008), “teatard” (since March 2009), “crumbtard” (since May 2011) and “occutard” (since October 2011).
(Lib-Tard) 1) Combination of the words Liberal and retard (see also: Libterd, libturd, libnerd, libsurd, libdiot, libored) 2) The result when a tree hugger successfully mates with a tree and the offspring is born with an extra chromosome. 3) Any helpless society that must always be liberated by the blood and sweat of others yet are too arrogant and stupid to realize that they owe their entire existance to others.(see also: French-tard, French-Tarded, Retarded-Frenchmen).
1) Hillary clinton and her husband, you know what’s his face. You know that libtard that got impeached for going down on that fat chick in the beret that looked like Rosie Odonnel.
2) Look at that tall mongoloid with the vote Kerry T-shirt. Must be one of them libtards.
3) Screw you Frenchie! You freakin’ Libtard.

The term “moral retards” didn’t sit well with a lot of people.
Right-wingers are fond of using the retard variant “lib-tard” as a term of derision for left-wingers. Shortly after the 2004 election, a freeper e-mailed me and said: “Ha-ha, Bush won, blow me, lib-tard!”

Now, I ask you, honestly, how is this any different from the charges we hear daily from the radical LibTARDs? They’re exactly the same! Bush and Blair are war criminals, the war was illegal, blah blah blah facking blah.
If there’s one thing LibTARDs hate it’s when you accuse them of holding anti-American or unpatriotic views. What the LibTARDs need to begin asking themselves is this: If your opinions perfectly gel with those of America’s greatest enemies, isn’t this an indication that maybe, just maybe, there’s something seriously wrong with the values you hold?
Why They’re Called “Libtards”
by Bill Hennessy on September 10, 2008
The past 24 hours will serve as the most embarrassing, self-destructive period in liberalism. These people (liberals) are not only stupid enough to keep Sarah Palin’s name in the headlines, they’re stupid enough to piss off 3/4 of the people in the country while doing it.

Jim is one of the best reporters this city has. Also, “libtard” is perhaps the most overused word in the far-right lexicon. It’s been used so much in such a short period of time, it’s stale. Please find a new word and actually write something interesting.
Libtard Catch Phrase Turns Six Years Old

Just like children, catch phrases continue to age long after they quit being cute. And so it was with “Mission Accomplished,” a banal phrase on a banner strung up behind old what’s-his-name on that day, six years ago, when he dressed up like a space-pilot action figure and was flown in a little plane which landed on a big boat. We’ve all learned a lot since then, maybe.

my guess is that Jesus Christ never called anyone a retard knowing how hurtful it was. Shame on all of you who continue using it despite knowing this.
