“If the term ‘military grade’ impresses you, you’ve probably never been in the military”

Some people believe that “military grade” means that a product is very good. If it’s good enough for the military—where life is at stake—it must be a quality product. However, many people who have served in the military scoff at this idea.

“People who use ‘military-grade [anything]’ as a sales point have never been in the military...” was posted on Twitter on June 5, 2014. “If the term ‘military grade’ impresses you, you’ve probably never been in the military” was posted on Reddit—Shower Thoughts on September 6, 2017.

The fact that you advertise your product as “military-grade” tells me none of your target market has been in the military
