“I’d rather be someone’s shot of whiskey than everyone’s cup of tea”
“I’d rather be someone’s shot of espresso/tequila/vodka/whiskey than everyone’s cup of tea” is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. Someone’s “cup of tea” (what someone likes or prefers) has been an idiom since at least the 1920s.
“I don’t care if I’m not everyone’s cup of tea. I’d rather be someone’s shot of whiskey anyway” was cited on Twitter on April 26, 2012. “I’d rather be someone’s shot of whiskey than everyone’s cup of tea” was cited on Twitter on October 24, 2012.
“I’m well aware I’m not everyone’s cup of tea ... I’d rather be someone’s shot of tequila anyway” was cited on Twitter on July 27, 2012, from the ecard.
