The egg cream is a quintessential New York drink, containing no eggs and no cream. The usual egg cream ingredients are seltzer, chocolate syrup (Fox’s U-Bet), and milk.
In 2008, several alcoholic egg creams appeared. A “Drunken Egg Cream” adds rum and Kahlua to the standard egg cream ingredients. A “Kahlua Egg Cream” adds Kahlua, but not rum or chocolate syrup.
Kahlua Egg Cream recipe
1 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
8 oz club soda
2 oz milk
Add all ingredients to an old-fashioned glass.

I am backdating this slightly because I have had connectivity issues and browser issues, and if they hadn’t happened I would have posted before midnight. Also, I am a little fuzzy because I am finishing off the last of the Drunken Egg Cream. It’s a drink of my wife’s creation - chocolate vodka, chocolate milk, and club soda. It’s good.

Up second! The Drunken Egg Cream. The New York classic made with old-fashioned Fox’s U-bet chocolate sauce (made in Brooklyn) and spiked with spiced rum and Kahlua.
Drunken Egg Cream
Yield: 1 drink
chocolate syrup, preferably Fox’s U-bet brand
1/2 cup whole milk
1 1/2 ounces spiced rum
1 ounce Kahlua
Pour about 1/4-inch of syrup into the bottom of a glass. Pour in the milk, rum and Kahlua, and stir well to dissolve the syrup. Top off with seltzer, and stir again to create froth.
