“Count that day won when, turning on its axis, this earth imposes no additional taxes”
Franklin Pierce Adams or “FPA” (1881-1960) wrote in his newspaper column, “The Conning Tower” in the New York (NY) Herald Tribune, on April 27, 1934:
“Every morning that timid reader, Mr. Casper Milquetoast, discovers that a little more of his income has been shot from under him by the patriotic necessity of paying just one more tax. ‘Count that day won,” he sings, “when, turning on its axis, this earth imposes no additional taxes.’”
“Count that day won when, turning on its axis, this earth imposes no additional taxes” is a tax saying that has been included in many quotation collections.
