Check the calendar for events, or swing by everyday for fresh sushi and a chocolate-almond croissant. Chelsea Market, a complex of wholesale markets that will also sell to retail customers, is beginning to take shape in a building that runs from Ninth Avenue to 10th, between 15th and 16th Street. It will be open to the public at the end of May, and many or the merchants are planning to stay open 24 hours a day.
The building, a collection of 18 structures from the 1880's to 1930's, once housed a Nabisco factory.
