Breakfastarian

A “breakfastarian” is someone who loves to eat breakfast, no matter what time of the day. The word “breakfastarian” was cited on Twitter in 2009, but the meaning is unclear. A 2013 Urban Dictionary definition is: “A person who recognizes the superiorty of breakfast over other meals. A person who eats only breakfast foods.”

IHOP (International House of Pancakes) trademarked the word “breakfastrian” in 2015 and issued a May 2015 press release. A Reuters news story in August 2015 provided a definition in the opening sentence:

“Call it the rise of the ‘Breakfastarians’—the dining tribe that craves breakfast food morning, noon and night.”

While some people would choose to eat a steak for dinner, a breakfastarian would only consume a steak if it were served with eggs.
