An “Americagam” or “Amerigasm” (America + orgasm) is an excessive display of American patriotism. “Amerigasm” has been cited in print since at least October 2006 amd “Americagasm” has been cited in print since at least July 2008.
The term “Americagasm” was popularized by Comedy Central comedian Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show in 2010 and 2011. Stewart referred to (in his opinion) the excessive patriotism of Republicans.

While we’re generally fans of the Colbert Report, this is, like, just not cool, bro:
Last week, the right-wing talking head of talking heads ran a piece on the new ad campaign for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The cantankerous Colbert provided the obligatory big business back rub, giving a tip of the hat to the ol’ General — including Chevy’s decision to pander by including the image of Rosa Parks in the Amerigasm that is the “Our Country, Our Truck” advert.
